Beards are skin too. Feed them like it. Our Tallow Beard Balm conditions, shapes, and eliminates itch because a beard growing on nourished skin wins every time. 100% Grass-fed tallow + beeswax gives medium hold without stiffness. Argan and jojoba oils keep it soft. No itching, no flaking, no synthetic fragrance masking the problem.

Why This Works

  • Eliminates itch naturally: Beard itch comes from dry skin underneath. Tallow feeds that skin.
  • Medium hold, soft feel: Shapes your beard without stiffness or crunch. Combs through easily.
  • Conditions from root to tip: Tallow nourishes facial skin. Argan and jojoba oils condition the hair shaft.
  • No synthetic fragrance: Lets your actual beard scent come through.

What You're Getting

  • 2 oz (57g) of nutrient-dense beard balm
  • 100% Grass-fed Beef Tallow + Beeswax + Organic Jojoba Oil + Organic Argan Oil + Vitamin E
  • Medium hold. Shapes without stiffness.
  • No synthetic fragrance, no petroleum-based ingredients

How to Use

Work pea-sized amount between your palms until warm and spreadable. Work through beard starting at roots, moving to tips. Use beard comb or brush to shape. Reapply throughout day as needed. Works best on clean, dry beards. Your beard will look fuller and feel softer in days.

Why Tallow?

Tallow's compatibility with skin extends to facial hair. It conditions the hair shaft while nourishing the skin beneath, the source of beard itch and flaking. Beeswax adds hold without the stiffness and flakes of synthetic products. Real beard nutrition, not fragrance masks.

Ingredients & Quality

Every Carnivore Supply tallow product starts with one ingredient: 100% Grass-fed beef tallow from USA-raised cattle on family farms in Missouri and the Midwest.

Our tallow is rendered from premium suet (kidney fat), the highest-quality fat on the animal. It's rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K in their natural, bioavailable forms.

We blend our tallow with carefully selected organic carrier oils and natural ingredients. No synthetic preservatives, no fragrance, no parabens, no petroleum byproducts, no seed oils.

See the full ingredient list in the product description above.

Why Tallow for Skin?

Beef tallow contains the same fatty acid profile as human skin sebum. It's one of nature's most biocompatible moisturizers. Your skin recognizes it immediately.

What makes tallow different:

- Vitamins A, D, E, and K penetrate where synthetic peptides and hyaluronic acid can't
- Matches your skin's natural lipid barrier. No confusion, no irritation.
- Occlusive enough to protect, compatible enough to absorb
- Contains CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) and palmitoleic acid

Your ancestors used animal fats for skincare for thousands of years. Modern skincare replaced them with petroleum and synthetics. We went back to what works.

How to Use

For balms and butters: Warm a small amount between your palms and press into clean skin. A little goes a long way. This isn't commercial lotion. Apply to damp skin after showering for best absorption.

For soap: Lather between your hands or with a washcloth. The dense bar lasts 2-3x longer than commercial soap. Keep in a draining soap dish between uses.

For lip balm: Apply directly to clean lips throughout the day. Use before bed for overnight conditioning.

For deodorant: Apply a small amount to clean, dry underarms each morning.

For sunscreen: Apply generously 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours.

Our Sourcing

Our tallow comes from cattle raised on family farms in Missouri and the greater Midwest. These animals spend their lives on pasture, eating grass as nature intended.

No feedlots. No grain finishing. No antibiotics or added hormones.

We work directly with farmers who practice rotational grazing and prioritize both animal welfare and soil health. Every purchase supports these families and the regenerative practices that make this quality possible.

1% of revenue goes to conservation organizations protecting American public lands and wild ecosystems.

Shipping

We ship to the continental United States (lower 48 states). Orders are processed within 1-2 business days.

FAQ

Will tallow clog my pores?

No. Tallow's fatty acid profile is nearly identical to human sebum. Your skin recognizes it as its own. It absorbs without blocking pores. Many people with acne-prone skin find tallow works better than commercial moisturizers.

Does it smell like beef?

Properly rendered tallow has a very mild, neutral scent. Our products have minimal natural scent. No synthetic fragrance is used to mask anything.

How long does each product last?

Tallow is concentrated. A little goes a long way. A 4oz balm typically lasts 6-8 weeks with daily use on face and hands. Bar soap lasts 4-6 weeks. Tallow products are shelf-stable and don't require refrigeration.

Is this safe for sensitive skin?

Tallow is one of the gentlest moisturizers available. It contains no common irritants (fragrance, alcohol, synthetic preservatives). If you have specific allergies, check the full ingredient list in the description above.
